BOA 1908 Centenary Celebrations
To mark the first London Olympic Games held in 1908 the BOA are developing a schedule of events and celebrations to take place throughout 2008.
The celebrations will fall into five projects:
Marathon Celebration

To launch the year of celebrations there will be a reception at Windsor Castle hosted by Her Majesty The Queen and The Princess Royal.
1908 Olympic Exhibition

This will be a mobile interactive exhibition featuring archive photography and original memorabilia of the 1908 games. It will start in London and visit a number of suitable high traffic events throughout the country during the summer of 2008.
Polo Final
Wednesday, 9 Jan 2008
Great Britain will play Ireland in a restaging of the 1908 polo final. This will take place at Guards Polo Club Windsor on 29th May. The match will be followed by a fund raising dinner for approximately 400.
Tug of War
Wednesday, 9 Jan 2008
The BOA will stage a tug-of-war event, either as a stand-alone event, or as part of the Polo Final.
Rugby Final
Wednesday, 9 Jan 2008
Great Britain will play Australia in late November, to restage the rugby union final. This will be a full international with Australia awarding caps and Great Britain fielding a squad of world class players. As such the match will be shown live in the UK and Australia and it is anticipated that the TV rights will be sold world wide. This match will be preceded by a fundraising dinner for approximately 500 in central London.
